The Woman Behind the Lens

Headshot by Mary Beth Photography

From the most humble beginning of early technology and the disposable camera, I fell in love with being able to capture the imaginative world of my childhood. In college, I rekindled that early love and knew I wanted to turn it into a passionate business. So, here I am working to make that little girl of my youth proud.

In January of 2019, I married the man of my dreams and with a name change I knew I wanted to rebrand into something other than Elizabeth Fortenberry. (It’s a little long, am I right?) Why a ladybug? Three simple reasons: Myrtle, a cute nickname, and cute little bugs. Myrtle was the mascot of my college sorority where I found a beautiful sisterhood, and “Ladybug” is my husband’s little nickname for me. Suffice it to say, I wanted a name that represented a part of who I am and that is how “Ladybug Photography” was born.

My go-to Starbucks drink is a White Chocolate Mocha, iced or hot. I love sushi, Tex-Mex, and wine. My favorite shows are Friends, Law and Order: SVU, and Grey’s Anatomy.

When I’m not behind the lens, you can find me reading a book, binge-watching shows on Netflix, playing with my dog Kennedy, or seeing a show in the Arts District with my husband.
